3) OPINION

Initially, the section Opisthogoneata was characterized by presence of genital opening in hind part of the body, and included only Chilopoda, Hexapoda  and Symphyla; the last were erroneously regarded having the genital opening posteriorly. Later, the same author corrected his mistake and wrote that attributing of Symphyla to Progoneata or placing them "between Progoneata and Opisthogoneata" is a subject for further discussions. As the initial attributing of Symphyla to Opisthogoneata was connected not with a special opinion about classification, but with an evident mistake concerning structure of animals, the name Opisthogoneata should be attributed to the taxon uniting Hexapoda + Chilopoda. The valid name for the  taxon uniting only Hexapoda + Chilopoda + Symphyla should be Etymachila Bollman 1893.
