COMMENTS. Some authors include the extinct taxon Permopsocus/fg into the plesiomorphon Copeognatha, which is included into Panpsocoptera; in this case the name Eupsocoptera Lameere 1936 (originally as Eupsocopteres, in French pelling) should be regarded as a senior non-monosemantic circumscriptional synonym of Panpsocoptera and can be used instead of it. According to another opinion, Permopsocus/fg1 is not related to Panpsocoptera and does not belong to Acercaria; in this case the name Eupsocoptera can not be used for Panpsocoptera.

Among the two equally old objective synonyms – Panpsocoptera and Psocopteria, the name Panpsocoptera is preferable, because the name Psocopteria if often confused with a similar name Psocopteroidea Martynov 1938 (which belongs to a paraphyletic taxon uniting Panpsocoptera with Thysanoptera and Zoraptera).
